
Kuwait has today hosted a key meeting on tourism cooperation across the GCC member states.
Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa took part in the session which brought together the GCC ministers in charge of tourism affairs.
Kuwaiti Amir Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received the ministers taking part in the meeting, along with GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.
The Kuwaiti leader stressed the importance of promoting GCC pan-tourism to bolster join complementary work and consolidate joint relations.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also received the delegations, stressing the importance of developing GCC tourism cooperation.
Addressing the session, Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa stressed Bahrain’s achievements during its tenure as president of the 16th session of the Arab Tourism Ministers’ Council.
She stressed the importance of celebrating the Arab Tourism Day, which corresponds to the birthday of Ibn Batoutta on February 25.
The Ministry of Culture launched the Arab Tourism Day on the sidelines of the festivities marking the Manama, capital of Arab Tourism 2013.
