Emirates launches A380 service to Amsterdam

Emirates launched A380 services on its Amsterdam route on Wednesday, the carrier said it a statement, adding it is the first carrier to offer a scheduled A380 service to the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Emirates’ cargo unit, SkyCargo, has been serving the Dutch capital with freighters for more than 17 years, with flowers picked up from Africa, bound for auction in the Netherlands, amongst the key commodities carried, Emirates said, adding that over 16.5 million kg of cargo was carried between Dubai and Amsterdam in 2011. Currently operating 22 A380s in all, Emirates is the largest A380 operator in the world at present. The carrier said it has carried more than 10 million passengers so far. From gulfnews
