A Syrian traveler at Beirut’s International Airport was robbed Tuesday jewelry worth more than $30,000, security sources told The Daily Star. According to the sources, unknown assailants snatched and made off with the handbag of 26-year-old Massa Samer al-Makh, who claimed it contained four diamond rings, a bracelet and other jewelry items. Makh filed a report with the justice and administrative bureau at the airport. An investigation is under way, with the surveillance cameras in the airport being checked to reveal the identity of the culprits.
