
Development plans for 16 beaches in Oran (432-km west of Algiers) has been launched recently in a bid to develop seaside tourism, the provincial Tourism and Craft Industry department said Sunday.
The plans concern the beaches of the western cliff road "Cap Falcon," "Bouiseville," "El Mordjane" and "Bomo plage, according to the interim head of Tourism Department, Belabbes Kayem Benamar.
The development plans also include the eastern side like "Cap Carbon," in the coastal commune of Arzew, "Marina" of Mers El Hadjadj and "El Mectaa.
A financial budget of DZD16 million is devoted to the operation.
The plans have been worked out ahead of the next summer season, as the beach sections to be granted in 2015 will be clearly determined, the Tourism official told APS.
Eighteen out of 34 authorized beaches have already benefitted from development plans, Belabbes said.
Nine concessions only have been granted for a period of five years during the summer season 2014, the rest for a one-year period.
