Algeria alleges Canadian involvement in In Amenas attack

Foreign workers are now forbidden from travelling without escort Algiers – Hocine Bousalah Algerian authorities claim they have "solid evidence" proving the involvement of Canadian nationals in the terrorist attack and hostage crisis on the In Amenas gas facility in Tiguentourine in January. Algerian security sources revealed relevant intelligence had been passed on to the Canadian government.
Local media previously reported the involvement of a shady figure, believed to be coordinating the Signed in Blood Brigade assault, who was suspected of being a Canadian citizen.
Amid fear of reprisals following the death of Abdelhamid Abou Zeid, leader of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Algerian security forces have stepped up surveillance patrols around sites belonging to French companies.     
Officials have been urged to be "vigilant and cautious."
Foreign workers are now forbidden from travelling without a security escort.
Around 40 French workers recently left an Ospa fuel site Adrar province due to potential security risks.
