Hasan Al-Charni, Vice President of the International Astronomical Union (IAU)
Tunisia - Nabil Zaghdoud

Hasan Al-Charni, Vice President of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) “The world will not end in 2012, as historians had claimed for years,” said Tunisian astrologer Hasan Al-Charni Vice President of the International Astronomical Union (IAU). He also predicts that Iran cannot get away from economic sanctions, but will keep its nuclear program. Two sectarian civil wars are expected in the Middle East, in addition to more violence in Egypt. Lebanon will be influenced by the events in Syria and it will witness assassinations of public figures, again. Morocco will go through some hassle.
Al-Charni  refers to the research made by Nostradamus, who predicts the end of human existence on Earth to be the year 3126, because of global warming, or as he puts it, "sea water are going to be boiling"
Al-Charni has predicted crucial events, such as September 11 and the mysterious death of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. He says major events are going to be affected by a few astronomical movements, among which, a total eclipse of the sun on November 13, a partial eclipse of the moon on November 28 and a total eclipse of the moon on December 10.
"That new year will be subjected to the influence of two strong planets, Mars and Saturn", which he explains to mean "the year will be difficult on all levels. It will witness political instability, climate change, and turning points of many crucial issues, whether it relates to nations or individuals. New faces rise and others disappear, sometimes tragically. Earthquakes and many devastating natural disasters will take place. Blood will be shed. Clashes and demonstrations will take over. The expenses of living are going to get higher, as the Euro fluctuates foretelling a serious disaster in Europe.”
"Oil and gold prices will continue to rise within a scary global economic atmosphere. Famines, and terrorist acts will cut short the lives of many people and cause considerable financial damages. Therefore, the year 2012 will witness a major shift that sets it apart from the previous 130 years. It will witness leaders passing away or unexpectedly falling,” He goes on.
On the most important events facing these countries, he predicts that the US will feel that the Arab revolutions are out of its control so it will try hard to create new business partnerships. It will also try finding a way out of the deteriorating economic situation after the failure of Obama, and Bush before him, to open way in Iraq for companies, as part of the US plan to occupy Iraq.  The Tunisian astrologer adds that “the state of creative chaos invented and applied by the US in the Arab world, will only work against its benefit"
The IAU vice president provided specific forecasts for many countries as follows:
Britain: Negative events occur during the beginning of the year, and the beginning or the middle of the tenth month, with the possibility of a terrible internal crisis. Besides, the life of the Queen is in danger.
France: It will face internal political changes and economic difficulties at the beginning of the year and in the last quarter of it. Social and economic status will shake with strikes occurring almost daily.
Iran: It cannot get away from economic sanctions, but will keep its nuclear program. It will find support and will pass through the international problems conquering the world during 2012. However, the clash with west is inevitable.
Egypt: The country has two surprises ahead of it, the first is an important political change benefiting Egyptians, and the second is acts of violence that affect governmental institutions, this time.
Lebanon: The year takes the country up and down. Stability will be affected by the events in Syria, which will lead to major differences, particularly among political leaders. A sectarian conflicts affected by politics is expected.
Iraq: Things will continue to be tragic with more blood flow, and signs of a sectarian civil war.
Libya: A new beginning for a free Libya is witnessed this year. However, an important government official’s life is in danger. There will also be a struggle for power between groups of rebels.
Morocco: Things remains critical despite paving the way to democracy because of unemployment and the high expenses of living.
Mauritania: A major uprising, political crisis, a large student demonstrations and difficult economic conditions take place this year, as in many other North African countries.
As for the situation in Tunisia, the astronomer explains that it will not be insulated from the economic, political and climate turmoil that would rock the world in the year 2012. In spite of these circumstances, Tunisia will continue towards building the Second Republic. Tunisia witnesses a cold winter and a very hot summer with storms and hurricanes that  deprive swimmers from enjoying beaches. Summer festivals will face a problem with the sudden death of a beloved Tunisian singer.
