Security forces prepare the Ittihadiya palace for further clashes Parties across Egypt’s political spectrum are planning peaceful marches to commemorate the two-year February 11 anniversary of former President Hosni Mubarak’s resignation .Marchers will demand the fall of the Muslim Brotherhood regime, led by President Mohammed Morsi, as well as justice for the revolution’s martyrs.
Two demonstrations, one moving from Fath mosque in Rameses and the other from Sayeda Zeinab mosque, will begin at 1700 hrs and head to Cairo’s Tahrir Square.
Groups that will join the marches include: the Youth Movement for Justice and Freedom, the National Front for Justice and Democracy, the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, the People's Socialist Alliance as well as the Constitution Party.
National Salvation Front [NSF] youth members also announced four marches in Cairo, each calling for the same four demands: bread, freedom, social justice and human dignity.
NSF members demanded the repealing of President Morsi’s Constitutional Declaration, a national unity government and the release of young detainees.
The controversial activist group Black Bloc has meanwhile announced on its Facebook page that its members intend to storm the Ittihadiya presidential palace, forcing President Morsi to step down.
Pro-Mubarak supporters, joined by former presidential candidate Ahmed Shafik, will also protest tomorrow by wearing black clothing to mark the second year since Mubarak’s departure.
