Further setbacks for Jordanian voters
Amman – Osama al Rantissi

Further setbacks for Jordanian voters Amman – Osama al Rantissi Provincial elections in Jordan have been postponed for six months and will now commence on March 14 2013, the Jordanian cabinet declared Monday morning. Jordanian news agency Petra reported that the decision came in light of interest and safety requirements for the voter in accordance with the Jordanian law.
Jordanians now await a decision regarding parliamentary elections with observers pointing at possible postponement in order to reach an understanding with the Islamist movement, as the latter has announced a boycott of the elections.
Senior sources have indicated that high-ranking members of Jordan’s government are set to confirm when parliamentary elections will be held.
King Abdullah II of Jordan will conduct meetings with a number of moderate political figures over the next two days.
The meetings are set to be hosted by former parliamentary figure and speaker, Abdulhadi al-Majali.
The government has also begun formulating a future roadmap relating to parliamentary cabinets and what they may mean. The subject will be discussed at length in an enlarged workshop being prepared by the Ministry of Political Development.
