According to the sources, the militants used the tanks and other heavy weapons in Wadi Al Rabei area, as a state of cautious clam dominates the scene during the current period after the clashes that continued for hours last night. The sources added that the roads have been closed with earth mounds by the militias hour before the clashes.

On its hand, Tripoli Revolutionaries militias said, in a statement, that they managed to control the headquarters of Man-Made River Company at Wadi Al Rabei in which a force related to the gangs was centering.

The militia, loyal to National Unity government, added that it will work to expel the militias and to cleanse the Libyan capital in cooperation with the forces of Libya’s Interior Ministry.

On the other hand, media sources revealed that President of Libya’s Presidential Council Fayez Al Sarraj prepares for launching a new initiative to resolve the political crisis witnessed in the country. He currently holds intensive consultation with politicians from different Libyan cities to draft a roadmap for the coming phase.

According to sources, the initiative will include demands to cease fire in the Libyan cities and to form a new miniature government and a military council led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar in cooperation with other military leaders.

Sarraj will also propose early parliamentary elections to pave the way for the formation of a new government and to form a committee to draft a new constitution. The sources revealed that Sarraj’s initiative gained the support of Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey and Egypt.

Sarraj is scheduled to hold a visit to Russia during the coming days in an attempt to convince the Russian government to pressure Marshal Haftar to accept the initiative.
