Military sources: Hasbah and Soufan to obtain full cooperation

The Military commission assigned to restore peace and security in Yemen Sanaa – Khalid Haroji The Military commission assigned to restore peace and security in Yemen, in accordance to the Gulf initiative and its mechanisms, headed by Interim President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi and including 14 senior army and security officers, started Saturday morning removing  checkpoints, roadblocks, and armed blocks from Sanaa, in addition to working on ending the state of division in the armed forces and security and reconstructing them.
Members of the commission were seen, Saturday, with equipment and machinery belonging to the Department of Military Engineers and the Ministry of Public Works and Roads, removing military and security barricades from a number of streets in Sanaa, where the commission started removing causes of unrest and tension.
The commission stated that Seteen Street, as well as other main streets in Sanaa, have been cleared of all arms and roadblocks. Ministries of Planning, Youth and Sports, Oil and Minerals have all been cleared of all armed groups, and are replaced by security elements from the General Department of Facilities Security, of the Ministry of Interior, whereas military elements, vehicles, and equipment were restored to their permanent camps.
Military Works, along with Public Works and Roads, took over lifting and removing roadblocks and barricades and bridging trenches in roads. According to the roadmap prepared by the Military Commission, work will continue to remove military and security checkpoints that are spread across many regions, in the few upcoming days.
An informed source in the Military Commission told ‘Arabstoday’ that the most significant work areas for the commission are Hasbah and Soufan, and Matar and Omran streets, as these areas and streets have witnessed bloody clashes in the last few months, between the Guards Forces, Central Security Forces, and armed tribesmen loyal to Saleh on one side, and followers of Hashid tribe leader, Sadiq al-Ahmar on the other side, resulting in hundreds and thousands of wounded, in addition to massive destruction of building, houses, and government facilities.
The source expects all parties to respond and cooperate with the commission in removing roadblocks and barricades, and withdrawing armed civilians and militias and tribesmen from the streets and having them return back to their units and original locations, restoring peace and rest
to the region and to the capital generally, and paving the way for reconstruction and normalization in places of unrest, so that civilians can return safely to their homes.
According to the state SABA news agency, spokesman of the Commission of the Military Affairs, Major General Ali Saeed Obaid said that some public and private buildings have already been cleared of military troops, stressing that military and security units have fully cooperated with the commission to establish security and stability in the region.
