Ziad al-Zaza (c) says Hamas is open to dialogue with governments around the world Gaza’s Deputy Prime Minister Ziad al-Zaza has announced Hamas\' decision to release a number of Fatah members who were involved in security violations. In a press conference, al-Zaza said the move was made in support of Palestinian reconciliation. \"The Fatah members have been allowed to return to the Gaza Strip,\" he confirmed, adding that Hamas is keen to push towards the goal of reconciliation.
He said that Fatah’s celebration in Gaza mark a memorable day, confirming that their celebrations in el-Kateeba Square were postponed for security reasons.
Al-Zaza claimed that his government is willing to achieve Palestinian reconciliation, with the immediate aim being to resolve pending issues, such as re-building the Palestinian Liberation Authority (PLA), achieving social reconciliation, restructuring the security forces, and forming an efficient government.
He stressed that Gaza would not be a separate state, saying that there is no Palestinian state without the Gaza Strip. He added that the Israeli occupation worked to assassinate the Palestinian leaders and to strike the infrastructure, while they failed to achieve their objectives. He stressed that the government’s role lies in protecting the back line of the resistance.
He highlighted the efforts being made by the Hamas government to end the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, adding that Hamas is ready to holding talks with governments all over the world, except for the Israeli occupation.
On the other hand, al-Zaza said that every Palestinian citizen has the right to run for public office. He added that his government was keen to resolve the problem of increasing unemployment, stating that the government focuses on achieving justice and supporting the current economy.
He explained how the government is working to support the local production, at the expense of the exported commodities to support the Palestinian economy.
He added that Hamas is currently working to build a security infrastructure based on community involvement, with over 300 reform committees across the Strip. He also said the government is supporting various small projects, including housing projects to help the residents of Gaza.
