U.S President Donald Trump held a meeting with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Sunday, saying that he plans to visit Egypt in the near future. The meeting comes on the sideline of the American-Islamic Summit held currently in the Saudi capital of Riyadh in the framework of the current visit held by Trump to Saudi Arabia.
Trumpt expressed his appreciation to the efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to combat terrorism, saying that President Sisi performed a major role to eliminate the terrorist groups during serious and critical conditions witnessed not only in Egypt but also in the regions as whole.
He described the Egyptian president as a close friend, saying that Egypt’s security seems strong during the current period.
On his hand, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi said that the security in Egypt is strong thanks to cooperation with the United States. He praised the role performed by U.S president to eliminate terrorism, describing his as a unique personality.
In April, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi visited Washington for the first time since his ascent to the power in 2014, as he met with President Donald Trump. The two presidents discussed the ways of cooperation between the two countries to combat terrorism as soon as possible.
The U.S president held a number of bilateral meetings with a number of leaders of Muslim states during his visit to Riyadh that started on Saturday, including King of Bahrain and Emir of Qatar.
U.S President Donald Trump reached to the headquarters of the Arab-American Islamic Summit scheduled to be conducted in King Abdel Aziz Center of Conferences in the Saudi Capital of Riyadh. The American president is scheduled to deliver a speech before 55 leaders of the Muslim States to discuss the ways of cooperation between the U.S and its Muslim allies to combat terrorism.
The U.S President started his visit to Saudi capital on Saturday to make Riyadh the first stop of his first foreign tour since his ascent to the power. He held a number of meetings King Salman Abdel Aziz and signed a number of deals on different trade, investment, technological and military fields.
The U.S President is also keen to assuage the fears of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf allies over the threats coming from Tehran in the light of the Iranian interference in the internal affairs of the Arab countries and its moves to threaten the security and stability of its Gulf neighbors.
