His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of Bahrain Handicapped Sports Association, has delegated Hisham Al Jowder the Minister of Youth and Sports and Head of the High Organising Committee in launching the fifth edition of “Khalid bin Hamad Soccer Tournament for Youth Centres, the Handicapped and Girls” (Khalid5).
The tournament will continue in the Khalifa Sports City until September 14.
HH Shaikh Khalid emphasized that the launch of the tournament evidences the clear policy geared towards supporting youth in all fields. His Highness added that “Our focus is on pledging the potentials and capabilities of Bahraini cadres to boost the youth sector in the field of sports, and asserted that our humanitarian and sports initiatives we have launched will receive full support to continue.
HH Shaikh Khalid lauded the tournament’s role in terms of its enrichment of the whole gamut of sports activities, citing the massive turnout it attracted last year.
His Highness pointed out that various successes achieved by the tournament are obvious, affirming that the tournament has become one of the tributaries that support national clubs and teams in the indoor football game and that will increase our support to the tournament in order to provide the means for its success, both organizationally and technically.
HH Shaikh Khalid praised the big role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs led by Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder, affirming that the ministry is a partner in the tournament’s success as well and such cooperation will culminate in the requisite success.
His Highness commended the massive convergence of participants from all directions, and took pride in the huge attendance and participation of responsible Bahrain youth who engage in all the various youth and sports activities to ensure their success and to reflect positively onto the local community.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa concluded his statement by assuring of the continuity of presenting the support to the tournament from all sides, stressing at the same time that the efforts of organizational cadres will pledge all their energies and expertise to ensure the success of the competitions by paving the ideal atmospheres for that.
