Actress shaves her locks for cancer-patient role

Suzan Skaf in tears as her hair is shaved off Syrian actress, Suzan Skaf, became the first Arab artist to completely shave her head for a role after releasing photographs showcasing her new look on Thursday. The actress plays cancer patient Inam, in a Syrian TV Drama Ha’irat set in conflict-devastated Syria.

Skaf told Sky News that she forced herself to be “bold” and “courageous” before chopping off her dark-brown locks.
The Syrian actress has since embraced her new look, appearing in a photo-spread for Arab women magazine Sayidaty, looking happy and comfortable with the change. Skaf has even added a little edge to the look by shaving in a swirl pattern all-over her head.
Skaf is now among the many actresses in Hollywood who have shaved their hair for a role, including most recently US star Anne Hathaway for her part in Les Misérables.
