Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Federal Authority for Competitiveness and Statistics, FCSA, signed a joint cooperation agreement to reinforce the strategic partnership between the two sides through the exchange of the database, experiences and knowledge.

The MoU was signed at the FCSA headquarters by Abdulla Naser Lutah, Director-General of the Authority, and Khalifa Bin Salim Al Mansouri, Acting Under-Secretary of the DED. A number of officials from both sides attended the signing.

On the occasion, Al Mansouri emphasised that the DED, represented by Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi, COAD, is keen on setting integrated policies and strategies to support sustainable development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in accordance with the country’s strategy for competitiveness.

The MoU comes as part of the coordination and joint collaboration between COAD and the FACS which translates those goals and enhances the country’s status and position within the international competitiveness reports.

Abdulla Lutah praised the strategic partnership, saying that the Authority looks forward to share its expertise and experiences in the field of competitive work with the work team at the DED so as to help the country achieve the highest ranks in the global competitiveness race.

According to the MoU, the two sides agreed to build the capacities of the national human resources by holding workshops, conferences and meetings to raise awareness and spread knowledge, in addition to holding periodic meetings to transfer knowledge and issue follow-up reports regularly.

They also agreed on conducting joint studies that focus on topics that are related to the UAE’s and Abu Dhabi’s competitiveness, in addition to launching initiatives that aim at reinforcing the country’s and Abu Dhabi’s competitiveness in all fields through cooperation with the related international bodies.

The MoU included joint cooperation and coordination with respect to the preparation and exchange of economic research and indicators that support economic development and diversification as well as the development of research methods and supporting

the scientific methodologies to fulfill the requirements of the decision maker.
