The Fifth Edition of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League

 On the sidelines of his visit to Khalifa Sports City Hall to watch the matches of the Fifth Edition of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls, Khalil Showaer, Former Bahraini Football Star and Current Coach, thanked HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities for his generous patronage and endless support to the Bahraini youth and sports movement.

Showaer was received by Omar Abdulaziz Bukamal the Head of the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Member of the Supreme Organising Committee and Ali Al-Arabi, Director of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League and a number of members of the organising committee.

Showaer expressed his appreciation to His Highness for providing the perfect environment for the Bahraini youth and athletes to compete and improve their talents and skills. He said that Khalid 5 is an opportunity for the national team and clubs to discover new talents, embrace them and develop their talents.

Showaer also commended on Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder, the Minister of Youths and Sports Affairs for his endless support to the youth and sports movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

It’s worth mentioning that Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is jointly organised for the fifth consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting and comes as part of the initiative of His Highness. Launched on July 24, the league will continue to September 14. It includes 59 teams that represent youth centres, local unregistered clubs, people with disabilities and girls’ teams for the first time.

Final Matches of Preliminary Stage Held

Isa Town Youth Centre defeated Maqaba Club in the first matches on Thursday by a score of 3-1, within the matches of the sixth group. In the second match of the day, Zallaq Youth Centre won Saar Club 2-1, while Al Junoob Youth Centre and Arad Youth Centre final match in the preliminary stages ended with a 6-6 draw, bidding farewell to the competitions of the league with an exciting match.

Hamad Town Youth Centre qualified to the next rounds after winning Al Eker Club by a score of 7-3. Buquwa Youth Centre and Al Maameer played the final match of the day. Buquwa won their rivals by 3-1 and qualified to the next stages of the league. Despite the loss of their team, Al Maameer fans made a remarkable appearance at their team’s final match in the league.

The organising committee honoured the best players in the four matches. The honoured players included Isa Town’s Hamad Abdulla, Zallaq’s Attiya Mohammed, Al Junoob’s Mohammed Al-Ameer and Hamad Town’s Hussain Kazerooni.

It has been finalised now that Safrah Youth Centre and Rasrumman Youth Centre, Salmabad Youth Centre and Muharraq Youth Centre, Al Naeem Youth Centre and Al Dair Club, Jidhafs Youth Centre and Hoora and Gudaibiya Youth Centre, Sanad Youth Centre and Zallaq Youth Centre, Saar Club and South Sehla Youth Centre, Buquwa Youth Centre and North Sehla Youth Centre and Hamad Town Youth Centre and Sanabis Youth Centre will play in the next rounds of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League which begins on Monday.

In the disabled teams category, six matches will be held on Sunday beginning on 5:45pm.
