HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa first Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the West Asia Athletics Federation and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, congratulated Bahraini youth and all the young people around the world on the occasion of the Youth International Day which is celebrated on August 12 every year.
This year’s Youth International Day is being marked under the theme “Youth Building Peace”, and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that the selection of such an emblem confirms the importance of the youth’s role in making peace maintenance across all societies. HH Shaikh Khalid stated: “We congratulate ourselves and all youth people in Bahrain and around the world on the occasion of the International Youth Day, which is being held this year under the theme of Youth Building Peace.
“It is also an opportunity to meet young people and exchange ideas that will develop their abilities and knowledge and contribute to the acquisition of more cultures and ways to continue efforts for the progress and prosperity of their homelands.”
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa continued: “Under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain has made outstanding efforts to nurture, support and empower young people to be able to truly participate in the development process of the country.
“The Kingdom has endeavoured to develop the capacities of young people at the educational and cultural levels through the development of educational outcomes and to provide them with views on various topics and issues of interest to the community by encouraging universities to establish student councils, courses and workshops,”
Finally, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa towards empowering youth and providing them with opportunities to develop their possibilities and showcase their talents. In the same context, HH Shaikh Khalid also hailed the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs under the leadership of HE Mr Hesham bin Mohammed Al Jowder.
