Palestinian president ends official visit to Qatar

President Mahmoud Abbas ended Thursday an official visit to Qatar during which he held talks with the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and other officials. Abbas, who arrived in Qatar on Wednesday following a short visit to Jordan where he also held talks with King Abdullah, discussed with Qatari officials the latest developments in the region and the peace process. Saeb Erekat, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization in charge of negotiations with Israel, accompanied Abbas on this visit.
