Pop superstar Sonu Nigam to perform at Bahrain concert

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) has added celebrated Indian pop star Sonu Nigam to its lineup of entertainers who will perform at this year’s World Endurance Championship (WEC) Six Hours of Bahrain. It will be the debut Bahrain concert for the award-winning star who joins a selection of international talents that will take to the stage live at the endurance racing spectacle at BIC on November 29 and 30. With a fanbase that cuts across the boundaries of nations and languages, Sonu Nigam is an embodiment of versatility and natural talent. The star has lent his crisp, clear and soothing voice to the soundtracks of several films from the sub-continent including Hindi, Kannada, Urdu, Oriya, Tamil, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu and Nepali movies. Further afield, his vocal contribution to the Japanese animation film The Mystical Laws, is just one of his international projects. Sonu Nigam began his singing career at the age of four, when he joined his father Agam Kumar Nigam, on his singing appearances. He moved to Mumbai with his father to begin his Bollywood singing career at the age of 19 and was trained by classical singer Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. After he became the host of the famous hit show Sa Ri Ga Ma in 1995, Sonu became a household name. His career to date has spanned over two decades, during which time he’s collaborated with the Indian music industry’s top musical directors including A R Rahman, Ilayaraja, Anu Malik, Pritam, Jatin-Lalit, Nadeem Shravan, Mano Murthy, Vishal Shekar, Sanjeev Darshan, Aadesh Shrivastav, Anand Milind, Sajid-Wajid, V Harikrishna, G V Prakash Kumar and Mani Sharma, amongst others. Sonu’s talents have seen him take to the stage at a string of concerts in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia, Afghanistan, the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Caribbean, the West Indies, Suriname, Mauritius, Nigeria and South Africa.
