Paris - BNA

His Majesty the King’s Personal Representative and President of the Supreme Council for Environment Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa arrived in Corsica, France, to participate in a high-level Conference for Ocean Conservation, at the invitation of the French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy Philip Martin. The event, organised on the sidelines of the third International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC3) in Marseille, by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the French Marine Protected Areas Agency, will be held on October 26 and 27. On arrival at the airport, Shaikh Abdulla expressed delight at taking part in the conference which will tackle a number of basic ecological issues pertaining to the conservation of oceans and seas. He thanked the French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy for the invitation reflecting the two friendly countries’ joint desire to develop bilateral cooperation in all fields, including the environmental one. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented in the Supreme Council for Environment, is keen on upgrading its cooperation with friendly France in protecting marine environment, land and wildlife, praising France’s pioneering role in this regard.
