Shaikh Khalid praises Bahrain’s successful hosting of FIFA Congress

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; and His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister; and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on the occasion of the success of the Kingdom of Bahrain in organising and hosting the events of the 67th Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Congress, with the attendance of all the representatives of the 211 member associations under the umbrella of the International Federation. The event witnessed the presence of hundreds of journalists, media personnel and representatives of international media, all keen to broadcast globally the proceedings of Congress.

His Highness said that the Kingdom of Bahrain holding the FIFA Congress meeting is one of the positive developments that reflects the directives of the wise leadership to organise and host various activities and programmes in the Kingdom. These events confirm the high ranking of the Kingdom on the global sports map, which at the same contributed to showcasing the Kingdom’s achievement and great progress in various sectors, especially in the field of sports, which enhances the Kingdom’s ability in hosting such international events.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out that the concentrated efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, greatly contributed to the advancement of Bahraini sports and supports it position at an international level, leading to the Kingdom receiving FIFA’s confidence and support to host the 67th Congress meeting.
His Highness also praised the great role of HE Shaikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in leading Asian football towards achieving more success, and this had a clear impact in supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain with the hosting of the FIFA Congress, which achieved the aspirations of the leadership and supports Bahrain’s position as a recognized global sports destination.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: “We express our pride and gratitude with the success of the Kingdom of Bahrain hosting the FIFA Congress meeting, which was preceded by the hosting of the Continental Federations meetings, which clearly reflected on the developed level Bahrain has climbed to. This has great significance towards Bahrain embracing more international sporting events in the coming period.”
His Highness also appreciated the efforts of all those who participated and contributed to the success of this event in the Kingdom
