His Highness had earlier in the day received the Prime Minister who presented his ministers to take the oath before the Amir. The ministers who took the oath were Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs; Mustafa Al-Shimali, named Minister of Finance and Minister of Health; and Fadhel Safar, appointed Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs. His Highness also received, for oath-taking, Ahmad Al-Mlaifi, appointed Minister of Justice and Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education; Amani Khaled Bouresly, appointed Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Planning and Development Affairs; Salem Al-Othaina, named Minister of Electricity and Water and Minister of Communications; Mohammad Al-Nomas, named Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs; Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, appointed Minister of Information. Before His Highness the Amir, the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said he realizes the weight of the responsibility he is entrusted with, adding he made all due haste in naming his cabinet members in view of the critical need to avoid any delay in measures to address the current state of affairs in the country. The tasks ahead could not be performed in satisfactory manner with a prolonged period of a care-taker cabinet, he further noted. The premier stressed his cabinet would spare no effort and show all due diligence and haste to address the task of securing stability in the country and to create an atmosphere that would accommodate further development to bring prosperity to the homeland. Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also expressed appreciation of the effort and achievement of his predecessor, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and prayed The Almighty bless the country with security and stability under the guidance of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince. The oath-taking ceremony at Bayan Palace was attended by Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Ibrahim Al-Shatti, Cabinet Secretary General Abdellatif Al-Roudhan, Amir Office Director Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahad, Amiri Protocol Director Sheikh Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, and President of the Government Performance Follow-up Apparatus and Head of the Consultative and Technical Department at the Prime Minister\'s Diwan Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
