
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met here on Sunday with several influential US figures including former political and military officials, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef.
President Sisi met with three former national security advisers namely; Henry Kissinger, Brent Scowcroft and Stephen Hadley, said the spokesman.
President Sisi met also with former NATO supreme commander Wesely Clark and commander of the central command William Fallon, added the spokesman.
President Sisi also met with House incumbent members and senior intellectuals including Richard Haass and Dennis Ross together with Egyptian renowned scientist Farouk el Baz, added the spokesman.
The president confirmed Egypt's appreciation for its strategic relations with the US and the march of joint cooperation, the spokesman pointed out, quoting the president as underlining the necessity of upgrading these relations to higher levels at the different domains in light of the joint challenges facing the two countries.
The president also praised the outcome of the recent round of strategic dialogue between the two countries that was held in Cairo last month, said the spokesman.
The House members and the other prominent figures expressed their appreciation for partnership with Egypt, said the spokesman, adding that they underlined the importance of enhancing joint cooperation.
The president expounded the developments in Egypt, asserting that Egypt is forging ahead with economic and democratic transition according to an ambitious and comprehensive vision that is taking into consideration the economic, social and cultural dimensions and is aimed at attaining more stability as the only avenue for realizing the aspirations of the Egyptian people, added the spokesman
