Uzbekistan's President-elect Shavkat Mirziyoyev took oath during a parliament session on Wednesday to assume official duties.
The country's previous president, Islam Karimo, died in September aged 78, with Mirziyoyev assuming power on an interim basis until a presidential vote is held. He managed 88.61 percent of the votes on the December 4 election.
