
Two doctors suffered bruises after they, along with a third colleague, were attacked by relatives of a patient at the Prince Hamza Hospital in Amman on Friday, the Ministry of Health said.The three doctors were assaulted at the public hospital’s surgical ward last night, the latest in a recent surge in attacks on public hospital staff that alarmed health authorities, according to health ministry adviser, Bassem Kiswani.Members of the Doctors’ Association, who visited their injured colleagues in the hospital, had filed a complaint with security authorities and “were following up the case with officials.”Health minister Ali Heyasat has asked Kiswani to follow up on the attack. The ministry has vowed zero tolerance with any attacks against medical staff.
