The King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) announced that the hospital has overseen the delivery of a quadruplet after caesarian procedure carried out by Ob-Gyn and Sterility Specialist and Endoscopic Consultant Surgeon, Dr. Hosni Malas. Dr. Hosni Malas stated that a 30-year old woman gave birth to a quadruplet (two boys and two girls) after a successful caesarian surgery at the NICU. Their weights range between 1.4 kg and 1.9 kg. "Mother and her newborn babies are in excellent health," said Dr. Hala Al-Dasougi, Neonates Pediatrician. The hospital provides high-quality health services to pregnant women under supervision of an integrated highly-qualified and well-trained ob-gyn consultant's medical team stationed at the Obstetrics-Gynecology Department. The hospital includes seven labor-and-delivery rooms in addition to hi-tech CTG equipment used to monitor mothers' and embryos' vital signs both during gestation and delivery. The hospital is well-equipped and ready for emergency caesarian operations. The hospital's Neonate Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is well-equipped and has 21 neonate incubators and its highly-qualified and well-trained medical and nursing crews are ready to receive 24-week-old, pre-term pregnancies.
