Ajman bans smoking in public places

Smoking in public places in Ajman has been banned. The Department of Municipality and Planning has banned smoking in public parks as well as other prohibited places. It has also banned shisha, reported Arabic newspapers. Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director, Agriculture and Parks Section, at the department, said, fines will be imposed on violators. The ban aims to educate residents of the ill-effects of smoking as well as the impact of passive smoking. From/ emirates 24/7
