Four-of-5 seasonal allergy sufferers say their fitness takes a hit when symptoms strike because they exercise less or not as hard, a U.S. survey says. AllergEase LLC conducted a survey of 500 seasonal allergy sufferers to examine the effects of the environment on their personal lives and found nearly 45 percent said they turned down social invitations because of their seasonal allergies. Approximately 1-in-3 respondents said they\'ve had a special day \"ruined\" because of seasonal allergies, while 40 percent of seasonal allergy sufferers have had a vacation or getaway negatively affected by seasonal allergies. More than half of men said their job performance was negatively affected in the past by their seasonal allergies, compared to about 47 percent of women, the survey said. Two-in-5 men said they struggled romantically because of seasonal allergies, compared to less than 28 percent of women. No further survey details were provided.
