The Armenian government will allocate a special fund for 100 World War II veterans to visit recreational health centers, the head of the Union of Armenian Veterans said Thursday. In an interview with Armenpress News Agency, Colonel Simon Yesayan, on behalf of the veterans, thanked Defense Minister Ohanyan for the permanent support shown to war veterans. At April 1, 2013, there were still 1,852 World War II veterans living in Armenia. There are about 50 organizations for war veterans in Armenia. Official data show some 600,000 Armenian soldiers fought in World War II as part of the former Soviet Union.
