
Minister of Health Dr. Sadiq bin Abdulkareem Al Shehabi has affirmed the Health Ministry's keenness to use modern technology to develop primary and secondary health systems and improve management systems and e-services in order to meet the customers' needs in terms of quality, efficiency, fairness and sustainability.
This came as received here today the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Internet Exchange (BIX) Brigadier Mansour Al-Hajiri, in the presence of BIX' CEO Shaima Al-Hamed.
The Minister highlighted the importance of taking advantage in ICT sector in order upgrade the level of health services.
He reviewed areas of technical and administrative cooperation with the BIX to develop the e-services provided by the Ministry of Health regarding the patients' transactions concerning medical consultations, booking appointments, receiving proposals and complaints and following-up the results of analyses.
He asserted that e-services and modern means of communication would fast-track transactions and bring about a giant leap in the quality of services provided for the patients.
BIX Chairman affirmed BIX's plans to go ahead with its projects aiming to improve the quality of public and private sectors' services, in line with the directives of the Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, citing in this regard the connection of the subsea cable to Tata Communications' Global Network, and the on-going implementation of the Broadband network.
Shaima Al Hamed said that the new projects would ensure speedy access to the Internet and reduce costs by 50%.
