
Minister of State for Defense Affairs Lt-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa also Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health chaired a meeting with experts and advisors of the World Bank who are currently visiting Bahrain October 12-23.
The Minister underscored the significance of creating a national health insurance to boost health services and open the door for local and overseas investments in this major sector.
The meeting was also attended by the Ministry of Health (MOH)'s Undersecretary Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Bu Onq.
The meeting focused on the National Health Insurance Plan and its latest developments as well as the outcome of the first visit of the team of experts and consultants from the World Bank which is the programme's key partner.
The Council's Secretary-General Ebrahim Al-Nawakhda said that the meeting discussed the agenda of the visit, including field tours, expanded meetings with several relevant departments concerned with the National Health Insurance. The delegation of international experts will also participate at the seminar on national health insurance on October 21 under the kind patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
