
A blood collection campaign will be launched soon for the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, which continues to be subjected to Israeli aggression, announced Wednesday in Algiers the head of the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA), Saida Benhabiles.
Speaking a the forum of the daily "DK News", Benhabiles said that the "campaign is initiated by the CRA in coordination with the Algerian Federation of Algerian Blood Donors (FADS), the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform and the Palestinian Embassy in Algiers."
The blood collection operation will be launched in the next 48 hours after the meetings and contacts held by the CRA with the involved parties, she explained.
Benhabiles said that she will meet the Palestinian ambassador to Algiers to determined the needs of the Gazans and to organize other aid operations, including sending medicines and medical equipment.
For his part, the president of FADS, Gherbi Kaddour said that his organization will launch calls for blood donation through the different media as part of the campaign.
