British doctors found pro-NHS party

Two doctors announced the formation Thursday of National Health Action, a new political party aimed at protecting Britain\'s National Health Service. The founders and supporters appeared outside the Parliament buildings in London, the Daily Mirror reported. One woman held a photograph of Aneurin Bevan, the longtime Labor Party leader who presided over the creation of the NHS as minister of health in the 1940s. The group is chaired by Dr. Clive Peedell, a cancer specialist, and Dr. Richard Taylor, who represented Kidderminster in Parliament as an independent from 2001 to 2010. The party plans to field at least 50 candidates in the 2015 parliamentary election, organizers said. They said they will not run in districts where the incumbent shares their views on the NHS but do plan to put up candidates against Prime Minister David Cameron, Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt and former Health Secretary Andrew Lansley. \"David Cameron and Andrew Lansley are the main creators of market-driven health policies which are destroying the NHS,\" Peedell said. \"David Cameron has full responsibility for pushing through the Health and Social Care Bill this year, ignoring fierce opposition from the public, the medical profession and other NHS workers.\"
