
Diabetes complications with adult and child patients are at the topic of 7th International Congress of Medical Association of Oran for prevention (AMOPREC), planned on 10 - 11 October, organizes said.
Over 200 doctors from various hospitals of the country will discuss during this meeting, new techniques in terms of diabetes treatment.
A score of conferences are planned during the two-day event, on "heart failure and diabetes," the "diabetes and eye disorders," of "complications of diabetes" and the "association diabetes/hyper blood pressure."
Other topics such as "diabetes with children", "care of the diabetic foot", will also be discussed at the meeting, organizers said stressing the "alarming proportions assumed by these two problems in the society Algerian."
Algeria currently has approximately 3 million diabetics and this disease is currently ranked second after to high blood pressure (hypertension).
This illness is now considered as a serious health problem.
