Five new cases of Ebola virus are reported each hour in Sierra Leone alone. Yet despite the risks, UK aid workers and volunteers are heading in increasing numbers to west Africa to battle the epidemic, the BBC News cited the Save the Children organization as saying Thursday.
It's badly needed. There are only 327 beds for Ebola patients in Sierra Leone where 765 new cases of Ebola were reported just last week, Save the Children's emergency response adviser Mark Buttle said.
The Ebola death toll hit 3,338 till September 28, where there were 1,998 confirmed death cases in Liberia, 710 in Guinea, 622 in Sierra Leone, and 8 in Nigeria according to statistics of World Health Organization.
