Ebola screenings begin at JFK airport in New York

Screening for Ebola in America began Saturday at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, the first of five major US airports where such screenings will take place.
JFK receives about half of all passengers from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, the West African countries where Ebola cases have been most reported.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a statement that the screening process involves passengers having their temperature taken with a non-contact thermometer, answering questions about possible exposure to Ebola, and being observed for other symptoms. Passengers showing symptoms or who have been exposed are to be hospitalized for evaluation, testing and treatment.
