Four new dengue cases were discovered on Saturday in Lahore, the capital of Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province, bringing the total number of cases to 186 this year alone. Three of the patients were from Lahore while the fourth came from Sahiwal east of the country, medical sources said. The Government of Punjab is planning a major celebration tomorrow for the fight against dengue virus in Lahore, in order to promote awareness among citizens about this deadly virus. Earlier on SEPT.19, in Karachi , the Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell of Sindh Health Department confirmed that as many as four more cases of dengue fever have been reported in the metropolis. As per the report, as many as 198 cases have been reported in the province during the ongoing year while out of them 196 cases are found positive with the virus. Deaths caused by the virus over the past year have exceeded 300 in different cities of Pakistan.
