A medical insurance service provided by the Shikan Insurance Company, known as the Takaful Medical Insurance for sudaense expatriates, was launched in Khartoum on Sunday.
The first client, Dr Abu Bakar Abu Mirain, a Sudanese national working in the Sultanate of Oman, received the first insurance document covering himself and his family, with the Secretary General of the Sudanese Expatriate Authority, Ambassador Hajj Majid Swar, directing his administration to open a new widown for providing such service for the Sudanese nationals working abroad.
Swar has pointed out that the document was carefuly prepared by the insurance company, Shikan, and his administration, as it is one of the recommendations issued by the Sixth Expatriates Conference held in Khartoum recently.
The said recommendation had stressed that medical insurance was one of the main concerns for Sudanese expatriates and encouraged the government and insurance company to handle the issue.
The delegate member for Shikan Insurance and re-insurance Company, Nasser Eddin Salih Idris, has pointed out the document was carefully crafted to meet the demands of all Sudanese expatriates and at a reasonable cost.
He said the project wasn't seeking any profit but rather to reflect a state policy and wish of Sudanese expatriates.
