Inquiry launched into death of girl after tonsillectomy in Egypt

Health Minister Adel Adawi said on Saturday an inquiry was launched into the death of a girl following a tonsillectomy at a state-run hospital.
"Medical negligence will never be tolerated," he said, adding that the doctor who carried out the surgery was suspended.
Adawi said the ministry has taken all necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents.
