The Italian 'Emergency' doctor stricken with the Ebola virus and hospitalised in the Spallanzani Hospital in Rome, will be discharged on Friday, according to the Italian News Agency AGI
The head of the institution, Valerio Fabio Alberti, released the news during a press conference where the patient participated as well.
"Just over one month ago, on November 25, we were concerned about the fate of this extraordinary doctor who, as President Napolitano very rightly said, is one of the examples of Italian excellence who put his life in danger. I must confess that we lived through difficult days, but today, with great pride, we can officially announce the patient has been cured," Alberti said.
"I will return to Sierra Leone," said the doctor, member of 'Emergency'. "I must recover my muscle tone, first, and then I want to return to Sierra Leone (SL) to complete what I have begun, " the doctor said.
