King Abdullah II on Wednesday opened a military clinic in the southern region of Al-Hasa which offers medical services to the area\'s residents and deal with emergencies and traffic accidents on the desert highway. The King toured the army-run center which he ordered in a previous visit and was briefed by its staff on services the center offers to the local community in the desert region. His Majesty spoke with a number of patients who commended the clinic\'s quality services. The center, whose cost amounted to more than JD2.6 million, includes a helipad and surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, gynaecology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, and dentistry wards. It also comprises a dialysis unit, radiology department, laboratory and a pharmacy. The center is run by 150 doctors, nurses and other medical staff.
