Kuwait Football Association President Sheikh Talal Fahad Al-Sabah along with the national football squad paid a visit to patients receiving treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in Jordan on Thursday.
The visit is aimed at bringing smiles to the faces of the children being treated at the centre, Sheikh Talal told KUNA after handing out gifts to young patients.
He was accompanied in his tour by Princess Dina Mired, who is the Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, along with Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al-Duaij.
KFA is carrying out the visit as part of its social responsibility at home and abroad, he said, noting that the message of sports is one of peace and affection.
Ambassador Al-Duaij reiterated the visit's goals, shedding light on Kuwait's keenness on maintaining its close relationship with friendly nations.
For his part, Kuwait skipper Bader Al-Mutawa stressed the visit's importance in showcasing an aspect of everyday human life at the centre, adding that it was both "touching" and reflective of "the crucial role carried out by the foundation." Kuwait's senior football squad is in Jordan as part of a training camp ahead of the regional Gulf Cup of nations due to be held this year in Saudi Arabia.
