Planning sector at the Ministry of Health is exerting huge efforts to set an ambitious plan aimed at providing better services for citizens, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning and Quality Dr. Walid Al-Falah said on Saturday.
"The plan is based on establishing an independent healthy body to supervise and prepare plans for healthy services in both private and public sectors," Dr. Al-Falah said in a statement.
He pointed out that the state is interested in implementing the concept of strategic planning.
"The plan was commended by many international experts and consultants in healthy planning during their visit to the Ministry of Health in different times," he added.
He added that the plan focuses on providing healthcare and emergency services.
Strategic planning in medical services in particular concentrates on preparing plans according to strategic visions and objectives, he added, indicating these plans should be evaluated as per clear-cut criteria.
He commended the decision of Minister of Health Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi to put the Planning and Quality sector under his supervision.
