Health minister El Houssaine Louardi described, on Tuesday, as “positive” the results of the medical assistance regime (RAMED). The minister deemed, at the house of representatives’ question time, that the results which were achieved are positive and reached the figure of 80% beneficiaries targeted by the system, in addition to improving access to medical care and offering cutting edge services as organ transplant. Louardi noted some shortcomings at the level of the infrastructure, financial and human resources and management, stressing the need to create an independent body tasked with RAMED management. He added that his department is working to broaden this medical coverage to include wage-earners in the private sector.
