
A new suspected case of the deadly Ebola virus is being verified by a leading Paris hospital and laboratories, French media reported Friday.
The news comes after a suspected Ebola outbreak in a Paris suburb on Thursday night was declared to be a false alert by the local Prefect.
The latest "probable" case involves a woman who apparently contracted the deadly virus in Africa.
"Europe 1" Radio reported here that the woman's condition was moved from "suspect" to "probable" at Hopital Bichat in northern Paris.
The radio said she had been placed in a sterile environment pending tests that had been sent to the Institut Pasteur in Lyons. The results of the blood and other tests should be known within six to eight hours.
