It's party time. You are saddened by the way you look in the mirror. You would like to believe that you are a healthy person, but the fact is that you are overweight. 'When you are in the 'plus size' range, you need to be extra careful with the way you dress,' says 30-year-old Monika Singh who loves to party. She continues, "I am overweight, and always worry about what to wear and what not to wear. What might look fabulous on a slim girl might look really improper on me." But it's not just about really overweight. People who are tall and less than thin also face a similar problem. Shares Rathi Pradhan, "I am six feet tall and weigh about 98 kgs. It's really difficult to find clothes that look good on me." The solution does not lie in cursing your body type. Rather, one should understand one's type and wear clothes accordingly, suggests fashion designer Saprishi Mondal. "One should be aware of the body type. It is important to know whether it's pear-shaped or apple-shaped. If you have a pear-shaped body, you should opt for long tops to hide the problem areas. Also, you should avoid trousers. A calf-length skirt, A-line skirts or a gathered one with a dropped waistband can work wonders for your figure. And for those with an apple-shaped body type, choose smocks and tunics that are 'in' this season. Trousers without pleats at the waistband, well-fitted denims, or pencil skirts that extend just below the knee are the right choices." So, stop worrying and party hard this summer!
