Saudi records decrease in the rate of HIV infection in 2012

Rates of HIV infection "AIDS " in the kingdom in 2012 decreased by 6.1%. Last year, 1233 new cases infected with the virus were discovered including 431 Saudis and 802 non- Saudis, said a report issued by the Ministry of Health on the occasion of World AIDS Day, which is held on the first of December of each year. The report said that the cumulative number of all cases of the disease discovered in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of 1984 until the end of 2012 amounted to 18762 cases including 5348 Saudis and 13414 non-Saudis.
