
The first meeting of health ministers of South American andArab countries, which was held in the Peruvian capital, Lima, concluded Friday.The event was held under the slogan “Universal healthcare and social determinants”.Qatar’s delegation to meeting was headed by Assistant Secretary-General for MedicalAffairs of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Dr Saleh bin Ali Al-Marri.The meeting discussed a number of important topics notably health systems, diseasecontrol, prevention and preparedness as well as response to cases of humanitarianaid.The meeting aimed at promoting integration between the South American and Arabcountries in the health sector through the implementation of the plan of actionadopted by the Third Summit of South American and Arab countries, which was heldin Lima in October 2012.
