
The Sudanese government and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Thursday signed a new country agreement, which also specifies the legal and diplomatic status of the ICRC in Sudan
The Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassador Abdul Raziq Abdallah Hamad Al Azraq, signed for the Sudan while the Head of the ICRC delegation in the Sudan, Jean Christophe Sandoz, signed for the orgnization.
The Undersecretary has pointed out in statements to the Sudan News Agency SUNA that sudan had asked the ICRC to reconsider and revise the country agreement signed between the two sides in 1984, saying the signature today comes as culmination of several rounds of talks.
The two sides are currently reviewing arrangement for the resumption of ICRC humanitarian activities in the Sudan.
