
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced today that as many as 22 children in Syria were suspected to have contracted polio. Spokesman of WHO Oliver Rozenbaur said most of those who contracted the illness were less than two years old and there more than 100,000 whose age is less than five years old are susceptible to the illness in Deer Azzour Province in the eastern parts of Syria.
